What is assessed before a dental crown?
A crown covers a tooth to help restore its shape and size. It may be considered for a weakened or fractured tooth, or one with a large restoration. The recommendation is confirmed at your consultation; not every situation requires the same solution.
If a crown has been proposed after root canal treatment, ask why it is recommended in your case and what alternatives exist. This page focuses on crowns; for other options, see dental prostheses.
Questions about your plan and estimate
Ask which tooth will be treated, which material is proposed, what stages are involved, whether you will need a temporary restoration and what the estimate includes. Confirm visits and follow-up before arranging your schedule or a trip; there is no single timeline for every case.
In-house laboratory and planning
The clinic has an in-house digital dental laboratory, CAD/CAM and intraoral scanners. Our laboratory works with zirconia and feldspathic ceramic for crowns, depending on the case. The proposed material and process are explained during the evaluation; having this technology does not guarantee same-day delivery.
Ask for personalized instructions on hygiene, check-ups and what to do if you experience discomfort or changes in fit. For general information, see the American Dental Association’s guide to crowns.
Evaluation fee and booking
The price of a crown is confirmed after assessing your case. A dental evaluation with a panoramic X-ray costs DOP 3,900 in total: a DOP 1,400 booking deposit included in that amount and a DOP 2,500 balance. This is the evaluation price, not the price of crown treatment.
