What are composite fillings and what is assessed?
Composite resins are tooth-colored materials used for dental restorations. They may be used on front or back teeth, depending on factors such as the size and location of a cavity. The same filling material or treatment is not suitable for every situation.
Questions to discuss include the tooth’s condition, the size and location of the restoration, appearance preferences and the treatment budget.
Are composite fillings the same as veneers?
Not necessarily. A composite filling can restore a localized part of a tooth. A veneer covers its front surface to change its appearance and may be made from composite resin or porcelain. The purposes differ; you can also read about dental veneers.
Care and follow-up
No restoration lasts indefinitely. Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth and attend the check-ups recommended by your dentist.

Evaluation fee and booking
The cost of composite treatment is confirmed after assessment. A dental evaluation with a panoramic X-ray costs DOP 3,900 in total: a DOP 1,400 booking deposit included in that amount, followed by a DOP 2,500 balance. This is the evaluation price, not the price of composite fillings.
